ASEEES Urges U of Kansas to Reject New Board of Regents Policy

Published on January 26, 2021

The Association for Slavic, East European, and Eurasian Studies stands with the faculty and staff of the University of Kansas who object to a new Kansas Board of Regents policy that suspends the procedures of shared governance, including tenure protection, in order to ease dismissals, suspensions, and terminations. ASEEES urges the University of Kansas to reject the Regents policy that would “temporarily allow public institutions of higher education to terminate or suspend employees, including tenured faculty, without declaring a financial emergency.”
