ASEEES Launches First Book Subvention Program

ASEEES is delighted to announce the launch of its new First Book Subvention Program.

In November 2013, the ASEEES Board of Directors established an Ad Hoc Committee on Book Publishing, chaired by Doug Rogers (Yale U), to take a look at the trends and issues in book publishing and the potential role that ASEEES could play in this shifting landscape. You can read Rogers’ summary report here.

Based on the committee’s work, the ASEEES Board voted in November 2014 to dedicate funds from the Association’s investment dividends for subvention of books by first-time authors who have already secured publishing contracts. Multiple awards of up to $2,500 will be made on a competitive basis each year, with funds paid directly to the press.

For more information go to the Program Page.  The first deadline for applications is September 1, 2015.

Please consider donating to the ASEEES General Investment Fund so that we can expand this and other programs.
