2024 Board Election Candidates Announced

The elections for the ASEEES Board of Directors are held annually in the summer. This year, there are three seats up for election: the President-Elect/Vice President, and the two Members-at-Large serving three-year terms from January 1, 2025 to December 31, 2027.

The Vice President is elected annually by ASEEES members and is designated President-Elect. After serving one year as Vice President, they become the President the following year. After one year in the presidency, the President is designated Immediate Past President and serves an additional year as a member of the Board of Directors. (vote for one)

  • Oxana Shevel – Associate Professor of Comparative Politics Director of the International Relations program at Tufts University
  • Geneviève Zubrzycki – William H. Sewell Jr. Collegiate Professor of Sociology and Director of the Weiser Center for Europe and Eurasia and the Copernicus Center for Polish Studies at University of Michigan

Two members-at-large are elected each year by ASEEES members, to hold office for three (3) years. (vote for not more than two)

  • Sarah Cameron – Associate Professor of History at the University of Maryland, College Park
  • Paul Goode – Associate Professor and McMillan Chair in Russian Studies at Carleton University
  • Christopher A. Hartwell – Professor of International Business Policy and Head of the International Management Institute at the Zurich University of Applied Sciences (ZHAW)
  • Miglena S. Todorova – Associate Professor in Social Justice Education at University of Toronto

Information about how to vote electronically will be distributed by email to current members by June 21. Please join or renew your membership today, if you have not already done so. Paper ballots will be distributed to members without email addresses on file and those who have requested them. Contact us to request a paper ballot.

Voting will end on September 1, 2024
