Managing Mid-Career Milestones
ASEEES is pleased to launch a two-semester pilot initiative designed to support and empower scholars navigating the pivotal mid-career phase of the academic trajectory.
In Fall 2024, Managing Mid-Career Milestones kicked off with two panel discussions featuring interdisciplinary speakers from among the ASEEES membership.
The panels explored big picture questions and practical strategies for success including:
- Setting mid-career goals
- Pursuing research, including the second book project
- Seeking out scholarly collaboration
- Advising graduate students
- Balancing research, teaching, and service
- Navigating tenure and promotion

Meet your writing goals with ASEEES!
In Spring 2025, pending sufficient interest, ASEEES will offer a six-week structured accountability group, fostering a supportive environment for setting and achieving their writing goals through weekly check-ins. We will also host networking sessions with senior scholars, providing participants with new professional contacts alongside insights from colleagues who have successfully traversed mid-career milestones.
Please fill out the Interest Form if you are interested in participating.
Please note that this initiative, while open to all ASEEES members, will primarily focus on the mid-career phase as applies to North American contexts.
