2015 ASEEES First Book Subvention Recipients Announced

In 2014, the ASEEES Board of Directors voted to dedicate funds from the Association’s general investment fund dividends for subvention of books by first-time authors who have already secured publishing contracts. The first competition was held this fall, and we are delighted to announce the recipients of the inaugural first book subvention grants.

Northern Illinois University Press for Russian Realisms: Literature and Painting, 1840-1890 by Molly Brunson (Yale U)

Cornell University Press for Violence as a Generative Force by Max Bergholz (Concordia U)

Indiana University Press for Threads of Empire: Loyalty and Tsarist Authority in Bashkiria, 1552–1917 by Charles Steinwedel (Northeastern Illinois U)

The next deadline for the ASEEES First Book Subvention is February 1, 2016.  For more information on the program, click HERE.
