Spring 2026 ASEEES First Book Subvention Winners 

ASEEES congratulates the recipients of the Spring 2026 First Book Subventions:

  • Northern Illinois University Press for Art, Industry, and Creative Labor in the People’s Poland by Eliza Rose
  • Central European University Press for To Kill a Spy: Everyday Nationalism and Political Violence in fin-de-siecle Europe by Zachary Mazur 
  • Georgetown University Press for When the Ukrainian Sun Rises: From the Holodomor to the Frontlines in Moscow’s Century of Violence by Kristina Hook 

ASEEES First Book Subventions are awarded twice annually. The next application deadline is September 1, 2026.
