Nicolas Dreyer was appointed Privatdozent and granted the venia legendi in Russian cultural and literary studies by the Otto Friedrich University in Bamberg, Germany, in June 2024. He completed his habiliation (postdoctoral) research project on the nineteenth-century Jewish press in Germany and Russia (“The Resonance of the Dream of Tolerance: Jewish German-Language and Philosemitic Russian Literature in the Jewish-Russian Journal Voschod”) in 2023. He continues adjunct teaching in Russian literature at the University of Bamberg.
