2024 ASEEES Virtual Convention

As we prepare for the 2024 ASEEES Virtual Convention on October 17-18, please read the following instructions for your participation and/or attendance. We encourage all convention participants to attend the virtual convention to support those who cannot join us in Boston for the in-person convention.

Convention Program & Schedule: View the convention program here. The online program is updated regularly. Please note that all times are listed in Eastern Time, but you can set your preferred time zone. The virtual convention begins at 8:30AM EDT on Thursday, October 17; the last session ends at 2:45PM EDT on Friday, October 18.

You must be registered and logged in to access the virtual convention sessions. Information on how to log in, browse the program, create a personal schedule, attend sessions, and present via Zoom, can be found on the virtual convention instructions page.

Please review the Accessibility and Inclusivity Guidelines for suggested ways to make sessions more accessible to attendees with permanent or temporary disabilities.

Session Time: Each session is allotted one hour and forty-five minutes and must end promptly on schedule. Sessions will automatically end 5 minutes after the scheduled end time.

Speaking Time: Presentations on roundtables should be 10-15 minutes per speaker (depending on the number of speakers). For panels, a paper presentation should be 15 minutes on a 4-paper panel and 20 minutes for a 3-paper panel. Discussants should provide comments for about 10 minutes. Please review this page for session best practices.

For Paper Presenters: Please send your paper to the panel discussant(s) and, ideally, to the other panelists at least two weeks in advance of your panel.

For Session Chairs: The main task of the chair is to introduce the presenters/discussants and keep them to a set schedule so that all presenters have the allotted time for their presentations. Please gather the speakers’ bios in advance of the session. The chair may be asked to read the questions in the chat. We also ask the chair to point out the ASEEES Code of Conduct Policy and take the lead in establishing an environment that encourages professional behavior and the interchange of ideas.

Session Managers (Zoom Hosts): ASEEES has assigned a session manager (Zoom host) for each virtual session to handle all technical aspects of the session. Please note that session managers are not responsible for other aspects of sessions and are not expected to read out questions in the chat. Do not contact session managers prior to your session.

Code of Conduct Policy: Please read the Code of Conduct Policy for the convention. By agreeing to participate in the Convention and registering, you are agreeing to abide by the policy.

Social Media: We look forward to informative and productive engagement on social media. Find us at #aseees24 and in the Facebook group. Please read the ASEEES rules for recording and social media

We are grateful for the support of our sponsors, exhibitors, and advertisers.

We look forward to seeing you soon!
